After the pilot of a spaceship suddenly dies, the craft begins spinning out of control and is on a random course throughout the solar system. Ray Peterson, a reporter, joins a rescue mission but problems between the command staff cause Ray to head out on a rocket by himself to find and repair the spaceship.
