After China's Cultural Revolution, there was a profound shift in the aesthetic values shown in the artwork of the time. Although much of it is easy to dismiss as pure propaganda, the authors of this volume argue that the aesthetic sophistication, diversity, and accessibility of the imagery are worth analyzing.
