CARAVAGGIO'S CUPID

Victorious Cupid, about 1601-1602, was the last allegorical work painted in Rome by Carravaggio. It depicts the Roman god of desire as a young boy in an animated pose, wearing dark eagle's wings and holding two arrows. This richly illustrated publication features six chapters by Langdon exploring the significance of the work.
