IT RIDES A PALE HORSE

Novel. Lark, who found fame in the art world, is to meet with a fabulously rich client. He is met at the gate of the secluded estate by an intimidating security guard, who plays him a live feed of Lark's sister, Betsy, being abducted in real time. Lark is then given a book and told to do what the book says, and Betsy will go free.
