LITANY OF LIES

Novel. Midsummer, 1145. Walter, the steward of Evesham Abbey, is found dead at the bottom of a well pit. The Abbot is relieved by the arrival of Undersheriff Hugh Bradecote, Serjeant Catchpoll, and Underserjeant Walkelin.
