MEDIEVAL ARMOUR
Throughout the medieval period, changes in warfare and technology caused the armor worn by warriors to change drastically. The chainmail used by Roman soldiers was slowly replaced with full-body, interlocking suits of articulated plate. Cavalry rose as the most deadly troops, and weapons evolved to penetrate plate. Fully illustrated in color.
