Centered around the author's father's WWII diary. Robert C. Sage was a B-17 pilot who flew twenty-nine missions out of Thurleigh, England, as a member of the 8th Air Force, 306th B.G., 367th B.S. ("The Clay Pigeons"). This record lay dormant for over sixty years, and offers a valuable contribution to the history of the Mighty Eighth.
