THE DEVIL'S CAUSEWAY

In April 1899, Admiral George Dewey dispatched the USS Yorktown to liberate a detachment of Spanish soldiers under siege by Filipino rebels. The mission went horribly wrong, resulting in the crew's capture and imprisonment, as what started as a heroic rescue mission extended the war by almost two years and cost thousands of lives.
