THE VISTULA-ODER OFFENSIVE: Men, Battles, Weapons

On January 12, 1945, the Soviet Army launched a massive operation aiming to push west from the Vistula River to the Oder River, bringing them within 50 miles of Berlin. The German defensive line east of Warsaw was manned by nearly a half a million troops. Within three weeks almost the entirety of Army Group A would be casualties or captured.
